Coping for Parents Program

 

Are you a parent of a child aged 5-12 who:

  • Has trouble getting ready for the bus on time most mornings without you having to nag?
  • Shows disrupitive behaviors at school?
  • Doesn't follow directions at home?
  • Has been diagnosed with ADHD or another disruptive behavior disorder?

If you have found yourself considering some of these questions, join our Coping for Parents Program for parents of 5-12 year-olds with ADHD and other disruptive behavior disorders offered by the Center for Children and Families. .

 

Coping for Parents is a 10-12 session interactive workshop for parents of children with behavior problems between the ages of 5 and 12. Children participate in social skills groups while parents work together to learn behavior management techniques and solve problems. Our goal is to help parents promote positive changes in their children’s home and school behavior. Coping for Parents is an evidence-based treatment for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder nd other behavior problems. There have been over 175 studies published in academic journals that prove workshops like Coping for Parents really work!

 

When: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:15 pm to 8:00 p.m.—You can choose the night and you can start anytime!

Cost: $60.00 for the entire session workshop plus unlimited access to additional workshops through June 2010! Families now get more for their money.Come as often as you want. The program consists of 10-12 new topics that repeat every 10-12 weeks. See the 2009-2010 Schedule for details.

 

Childcare: Free childcare for children ages 3 and up, plus social skills training for the target child.

 

To register: A 2009-2010 Coping for Parents Registration Form is required and may be completed at the first class attended.
