Summer Treatment Program 2008
The Center for Children and Families is now accepting applications for the 2008 Summer Treatment Program day and residential camps.
Who is eligible? The program is open to children entering grades 1-6 with academic or behavioral problems. All families currently in a study at the CCF are encouraged to attend.

When? The program will run from June 30, 2008- August 15, 2008. The camp day runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.This is a unique opportunity for your child. Children will spend 2 hours per day in a classroom setting working on academics and behaviors conducive to academic success, and the rest of the day playing sports and engaging in recreational activities with other children their age. They will also participate in swimming, social skills training, and special activities on Fridays. Each group will consist of 15 children and 4 staff members.
Where? All activities will take place on UB's Main Street Campus.
Cost? Early application discount: Applications received on or before March 15, 2008- $2,000.00. Applications received after March 15, 2008- $2,250.00. Once your child’s application is reviewed and your child is accepted to the program, a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your child's space. The remainder of the tuition, $1,500.00 or $1,750, is due on or before June 20, 2008. The CCF accepts Visa, MasterCard, or checks made out to UB Foundation

Residential campers will additionally engage in evening recreational activities and weekend educational and recreational activities with up to 8 other children and 3 counselors.
Where? All day and weekday evening activities will take place on UB's Main Street Campus. Planned activities on the weekends will include trips off campus, including trips to local attractions such as museum, amusements parks, the zoo, and Niagara Falls. These activities are designed for entertainment purposes and to give children practice in behaving appropriately in public places.
Children will reside in UB dorm suites. Each suite will house up to 3 children and 1 staff member. Suites are divided into two double rooms with a shared bathroom. Campers will dine at the Center for Children & Families during the week and have an oppurtunity to dine at restaurants for some meals on the weekends.
Cost? $9,000.00. Once your child’s application is reviewed and your child is accepted to the program, a $3,000.00 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your child's space. The remainder of the tuition, $6,000.00, is due on or before June 20, 2008. Tuition includes room, board, bed linens, and all planned activities. The CCF accepts Visa, MasterCard, or checks made out to UB Foundation.

Once your application is received and reviewed to determine your child's appropriateness for the program, you will be contacted to set-up an informational appointment. Families will be expected to make their deposit at that time (families may send in their deposit in advance if they are certain they would like to reserve a spot for their child).
Families who are currently participating in the Behavior Modification in Young ADHD Children Study, the Adaptive Treatments for Children with ADHD Study, the IEP Study or families who have completed a CCF application as of 9/2007 do not need to fill out a new application but should contact Karen Fumerelle to set up an informational appointment and to be included on the STP list.
